There is nothing that makes me happier than the temperature being in the high fifties in February. Well, nice weather and cheering on my favorite dance team at state.
It’s official, I haven’t been able to close the year book. As I’ve been thinking about it there are many reasons for that.
- I miss dance. I don’t necessarily miss the long practices or running the dance up to eight times in a practice. What I do miss is the feeling of performing and working hard to improve.
- I miss the team. Wayzata Dance Team isn’t one of the best dance teams in the state only because they are beautiful technically. It is because of the atmosphere in practice. The girls are so close. Part of that is because we spent more time with each other than our own families. The girls are friends inside and outside of practice.
- Wayzata Dance Team taught me so much about myself. From being a part of that team I was able to figure out so who I am. I learned how to be part of a team, how to be empathetic towards others and how to be a flexible thinker.
This weekends outfit post is dedicated specially to Wayzata Dance Team. Their kick theme for this year was “Welcome to New York”. It was such a fun theme and so easy to create an outfit to wear to state that was influenced by it.
I wanted to wear a New York themed shirt without screaming tourist t-shirt. This shirt from J.Crew does a great job giving off the New York esthetic by including items that make you think of New York.
It was also a little chilly in the morning and evening so I am wearing this motorcycle jacket from Gap! It kinda reminded me of the jacket that Serena wears in the very first episode of Gossip Girl.
As for shoes, I wanted to wear something comfy since I was walking up and down flights of steps at the Target Center but still stylish. These are one of my favorite pairs of shoes in my closet. If your feet start hurting from wearing heels but you still love the look of them I would 100% recommend these shoes!
I kept my accessories really simple today. My charm bangles are from Alex and Ani. My roll on beaded bracelets are from Sashka Co. These bracelets are hand crocheted in Nepal. A portion of the money from each sale goes to women that are working to rise out of poverty through fair trade.
So proud of the Trojets for taking home second place in state for the high kick division! Watching the dance progress over the season was amazing. After all the dedictation and hard work put in it was so fun seeing the final outcome!
Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather as much as I am before we get more snow friday! )’:
